Land Acknowledgement
We acknowledge that the lands now called Canada — also known by many Indigenous Peoples as Turtle Island — are the traditional and ongoing territories of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples. We recognize their enduring relationships to the land, their sovereignty, and their stewardship since time immemorial.
We acknowledge that Indigenous families and communities have been profoundly harmed by colonial policies, including those that separated children from their families and caused lasting intergenerational trauma. These harms continue today.
As a national campaign, we carry out our work with respect, humility, and awareness of the broader context of colonial harm in this country. We commit to approaching this work in a way that honours truth and recognizes the responsibilities we hold as settlers on these lands.
